How Can swelling And Pain In The Foot Be Treated?

Hello, I have pain on the inner side of my left foot. There feels like there is a bone that looks like it is swollen and tender. When I start to walk it hurts as I push off. I have started taking Ibuprofen for the pain. What do you think this could be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think there may be a fracture since you notice a bone there, is red and can't make it move. I suggest you do an x-ray of the foot for further investigation. Also, another possibility is osteoarthritis or tendinitis.

Expect taking antinflamatory drugs you also can. (if it is not a fracture)
* Put foot on rest
* Band it tight
* Elevate limb
* Use cold compresses

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
